Team selection
Instead of captains choosing teams, let them be called selectors. After the teams are formed, assign the selectors randomly to one of the teams.

We have done this before and have not gotten desired results. At the end of the day, every individual have different approach to selecting team, and one person selecting a team, generally don’t end up in all balanced teams.
